Welcome!
If you’ve found your way here, I’m very glad you did.
My name is Louise La Fosse, and I have been teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong for well over a decade. Over time, I have discovered that this practice is about so much more than movement. It is about balance—not just physical balance, but emotional balance, mental clarity, and a deeper sense of connection to oneself.
Why I Created This Blog
I decided to create this blog as a way to share what I’ve learned along the way.
In my classes, I often see small but meaningful changes in people:
A student standing a little more steadily
Someone feeling more at ease in their body
A quiet increase in confidence
A sense of calm that carries into daily life
And just as importantly, people beginning to connect with others in the class—forming a quiet sense of community with like-minded individuals
These changes don’t happen all at once. They happen gradually, with patience and practice.
This blog is a place where I can share insights, reflections, and practical ideas that support that journey.
What You’ll Find Here
Here, I will be writing about:
The many physical benefits of practice
The emotional benefits of Tai Chi and Qi Gong
How to approach learning
My hope is that these writings will be helpful, whether you are new to Tai Chi or Qi Gong, or have been practicing for some time.
A Little About My Approach
I believe in a gentle, thoughtful approach to learning.
Many of my students are professionals who sometimes place high expectations on themselves. One of the most important things I share with them is this:
Progress in Tai Chi comes step by step, and each small step matters.
There is no need to rush. There is value in the process itself.
A Gentle Invitation
If anything you read here resonates with you, I invite you to explore further.
Whether through reading, reflecting, or joining a class, there are many ways to begin.
Thank you for being here.
